Friday Fun Trifecta #4

If you remember a while back, we did a segment here on SDMcKinley.com called Friday Fun Links and now it has evolved into Friday Fun Trifecta, where I will feature one thing of each – music, book and visual arts. Welcome to Friday Fun Trifecta #4, where I share some appreciation for artwork.

EDIT: Any followers that would care to steal this meme, please do so along with the featured image. A ping back would get me interested to check out what you have pieced together. Let’s have some fun!! 😀

Music:

NSFW Warning for brief, barely cipherable but less than favorable four-letter F word.

[Intro]
(Hey, yo, holla….)

[Verse 1]
Oh, what a world I was born into
Warriors are lying down
Hush, little head, you’ll get sick
So sorrow-filled, I am
Old, wise river take me to the sea, breathe free
Like pilgrims on the Camino, I go, I go

[Chorus]
All the time I just want to
Let go and go and (get a hold of it)
All the time I just want to (get a hold of it)
All the time I just want to
F*ck it up and say I’ll (get a hold of it)
All the time I just want to (get a hold of it)

[Verse 2]
Oh, what a world I was born into
Babies are on the thrones
Hush, little buddy, you’ll get sick
And shiver to your bones
Old, wild river take me to the sea, be free
Like pilgrims on the Camino, I go, I go
(Hey, yo, yo… Holla, holla, holla, holla, holla)

[Chorus]
All the time I just want to
Let go and go and (get a hold of it)
All the time I just want to (get a hold of it)
All the time I just want to
Fuck it up and say I’ll (get a hold of it)
All the time I just want to (get a hold of it)

[Bridge]
Why do you and I live on and on?
(Get a hold of it!)
I believe it’s not a question anymore
(Get a hold of it!)
Why do you and I live on and on?
(Get a hold of it!)
I believe it’s not a question anymore
(Holla, holla, holla, holla, holla)

[Outro]
(Get a hold of it!)
(Get a hold of it!)
(Hey, yo)
(Holla, holla, holla, holla, holla, holla)

Book:

“You buy furniture. You tell yourself, this is the last sofa I will ever need in my life. Buy the sofa, then for a couple years you’re satisfied that no matter what goes wrong, at least you’ve got your sofa issue handled. Then the right set of dishes. Then the perfect bed. The drapes. The rug. Then you’re trapped in your lovely nest, and the things you used to own, now they own you.”

So, the second cover in a row for Friday Fun is here. I really appreciate this level of detailed noise mixed with a surrealist type style. Congratulations to the cover artist Adam Rabalais and designer Ryan Hayes. Fun fact: The protagonist’s name is pronounced just like ‘Lucy’, but it’s spelled Lussi ( as pictured on the present tag ). I’m really digging this book so far, guys. The physical cover really shines with foil around the title and selective glossy coating. That is all.

Guys, until next time – may you find all the happiness that your life can fit in it’s happy spot – S.D. McKinley
