Let’s Get Excited for “Death to 2020”

Will it be good? Will it be bad? Just like before 2020 arrived: we don’t know. I’ll be doing a review of Death to 2020 after it’s delivered on the lovely day of December 27th, 2020. However, this one has one heck of a line up and I love some Black Mirror ( same creators ), so I’m hoping this one knocks it out of the park.

Guys and gals, until next time – may you find all the happiness that your life can fit in it’s happy spot – S.D. McKinley.

By S.D. McKinley

S.D. McKinley lives in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. He was born in the first half of the 1980's and grew up in Wisconsin as a young boy, then moved to Georgia when he turned exactly twelve years old. During teenage years, he raced dirt track go karts and played guitar. He discovered his current love for all kinds of art after his mid-life crisis at 25 years old. S.D. McKinley began writing books in 2017.

Haha, yeah you caught me right in the middle of properly updating the tags, in which this is a ‘mockumentary’ . . . first I heard that term was today. So, yeah hopefully the propaganda is more welcome in this one since it’s suppose to be funny . . . I’m very selective on my humor, so I’m hoping this one delivers some laughs. Have you seen any of the Black Mirror stuff the creators made? It’s a separate series that explores funny-dystopian-future stuff, but each episode is totally separate in story setting and characters. One of my most favored episodes is titled “Rachel, Jack and Ashely, too”. 😄

I have Netflix, so I always see that Black Mirror is available, and i’ve heard it’s good. I haven’t got around to watching any episodes b/c when I have time, i’m not usually in the mood for sad/horror dystopia, which is what I understood it was.

I hope this is a true mockumentary, and not Colbert-type “humor” that tries to lecture us and be funny at the same time.

Yes! Let the humor win! Hrm, so yeah, some of the Black Mirror episodes would fit what you are talking about, but the particular episode I mentioned would more fall into a traditional drama type show with all the elements mixed in. There’s a cool cover song at the end too, that got me pumped. However, of course, your milage may vary. 😉

While I saw this pass by my feed, I skipped it thinking it was just another show/movie/documentary recapping 2020 without giving anything more… Knowing now that it has the creators of Black Mirror behind it and that it’s a mockumentary, I’m tempted. Thanks for sharing. 😀

Glad to find another Black Mirror fan and that you are one of them. Thanks for checking out the post, Lashaan. As far as an actual documentary about 2020, I’m with you on that!
