PSA: NetGalley Security Issue / Hack

Well, Merry Christmas Eve and I hope everyone that celebrates is in a swath of comfort, in the best way possible. Poor NetGalley.com, the method isn’t stated, but along with the fact that their homepage was defaced, they were hacked. Evidently they store passwords in clear text. Tsk, tsk. A security incident that involves you as a member, as you hopefully have seen in the email that was sent ( if you are, in fact a member ):

Change your passwords and if you used the same one for any other accounts, change those, too.

Guys and gals, until next time – may you find all the happiness that your life can fit in it’s happy spot – S.D. McKinley.

Bookstoogevolta is DANCING!!!!!!!

I got that same email. Now I have to see if netgalley was linked to anything else of mine online. I don’t think so, but it doesn’t hurt to be really careful…

Yep. Dance away, my friend for the night is young and I’m sure I’ll be plucking a couple of strings on my sitar before you get done dancing. 😝 🐻

I already got back in and the system at Netgalley is working just fine . . .
